Fuel tank area looks pretty good, so with a new sender unit fitted, after testing its operation on the gauge, tank goes back in.

Helen’s engine almost back together and ready to go in. However we’ve got to take the fuel tank out to replace a non-working sender unit.
While Helen’s engine is out all the pushrod tubes are being treated to some new seals to help stop all those annoying little drips.
Helen’s engine has a couple of issues going on with the number 3 valve train. The valve guide has pretty much disintergrated and the movement in this valve has worn the valve seat into an oval shape. compare this to how it should look. weigh up the costs of getting this fixed, it’s a small stretch to simply fit a new head to resolve all of these issues.
